If any of them are still moving under their own power, sure, but the E60 is going to be the most beat generation of 5-Series cars ever. Everyone that had an E39 held onto it because the E60 was fugly and lost the great driving dynamic of the E39, and everyone that bought an E60 is already out of it for the better looking F10.

3 years ago I would have disagreed, but yes.

The Bangle E60 has aged very well, and dat V10 noise.

It looks absolutely stunning in M guise. Also V10.

In 10 years it will have E39 cred.

Well it wasn’t called a future classic enough.

V10 with individual throttle bodies and double-VANOS. Good luck, future people!

Dude, the Citroën SM is a classic, if we can manage to keep THAT going we’ll be able to restore a BMW when the time comes.

Man, having driven an F10, I can say without question that I’m hanging on to my E60 as long as it holds up, then I’ll be looking for something else. The F10 was numb, huge-yet-tighter-inside, and felt like a Buick. It may look good with the right wheels and suspension, but I wouldn’t buy it.

I hope not since I want one and when that time comes I want them to be less than £10,000.

Citroens are quirky and French. A BMW is not quirky, unless you count exploding cooling systems and trouble-pron turbo engines as “quirky”.

I can see the value in acquiring a manual version in decent shape, replacing the exhaust with a straight pipe, and YOLOing away my retirement.

Hmmmm.

Straight six smoothness

German V10 < Italian V10. I’d get the Lamboghini-Audi S6 over the M5

When bros run up and ask “IS THAT AN M5 BRAH?” I can say no and they will leave

The boat anchor in the front is less boat-anchory

WAGON

Oil that doesn’t cost the same price as the refinery

BOOST

I don’t want to replace the differential oil every third oil change

Possibility of avoiding the SMG

I can do more than two laps without running out of fuel

Hell no, none of those things will be on the road in another 10 years. They’re falling apart already. Future engine donor, maybe.

(I know, way to take a totally controversial position on Oppo.)

Well, yeah. I’m sure the F10 M5 is fun. Seen a few around, but never driven one. I’ve wondered whether the new one’s steering is any better than the electric rack in the lower models. ‘Cause man, that thing sucks.

Each F30 I’ve driven has no steering feeling whatsoever.

How reliable are those? As in, could someone that can change their own oil/ swap out an anti-sway bar/ help their father swap shocks and struts out, keep it running without dealership/ mechanic help?
